Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 25, 2026

This policy explains how Amuzzin handles information when a parent or guardian uses our websites and apps (the “Service”). Amuzzin is designed for adult account holders. Children have parent-managed profiles, not independent accounts or credentials.

1. Information we collect

2. Local storage, sync, and story delivery

The app keeps a local database and caches story text, thumbnails, and audio for faster repeat loading. A parent account is required for the current app. Online mode starts enabled so account data can sync across authorized devices through our backend, PowerSync, and MongoDB. You can turn online mode off; pending changes then remain on that device until it is enabled again.

Published stories and media are stored in private Cloudflare R2 storage and delivered through time-limited signed links. Signing out clears app data from that device but does not delete the cloud account. The Parent PIN and device-active state remain device-local.

3. Artificial intelligence

Some story and creative workflows use Google Gemini for text or image generation and ElevenLabs for narration or music. Information needed for a requested generation—such as a prompt, story choices, or parent-provided profile details—may be sent to the relevant provider. Do not enter unnecessary information. AI output can be incomplete or inappropriate despite safeguards, so an adult should review it.

4. How we use and share information

We use information to provide and secure accounts, profiles, stories, playback, Alexa requests, routines, memories, sync, subscriptions, requested generation, communications, support, and abuse prevention, and to comply with law. We do not sell child profile data or use it for targeted advertising.

We share only what is needed with providers that help run the Service, including MongoDB and PowerSync (data and sync), Cloudflare (media), Amazon (Alexa skill and account linking), Google and ElevenLabs (requested AI features), Resend (email), Twilio (optional WhatsApp), Razorpay (web payments), and hosting or workflow providers such as Vercel and Inngest. Providers process information under their terms and our arrangements. We may also disclose information when required by law, for safety or security, or in a protected business transfer.

Usage measurement and research. We measure how the Service is used so we can make it faster, calmer, and more helpful. Story plays are counted per story, per month, per platform (iOS, Android, web, or Alexa), and by how the listening was started — inside the app, by speaking to an Echo, or from the app’s “Launch bedtime on Alexa” button. Plays from the app are also counted against a random identifier for that installation, so we can tell how many devices are listening rather than only how many plays there were. Alexa sessions record which requests and which stories occurred within a single session, with no linked account stored against them.

The installation identifier is not a device fingerprint. It is a random number created the first time the app runs and stored on the device. Nothing about it is derived from your device — not the model, operating system, screen, or locale — and it is erased when the app is uninstalled. It is never linked to your account, a child profile, a child’s name or age, or a time of day. We do not build behavioural profiles of individual children from usage data, and we do not sell usage data or use it for advertising. Aggregate, de-identified statistics of this kind may also be used or published to support research into children’s listening and bedtime routines. All of this is separate from the account and family information described in Section 1, which you provide, control, and can delete.

5. Children and parental control

Only adults may create accounts. A parent or authorized guardian controls child profiles, decides what to add, and can edit or delete it. Amuzzin does not provide behavioral advertising to children. Our product is designed around data minimization and parental control; regulatory obligations can vary by location and use.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain information while the account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Parents can delete individual profiles. To delete the entire account, use Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes profiles, synchronized family data, account-owned cloud media, and the account identity, and stops an active Amuzzin web auto-pay subscription. Local app data is cleared after successful deletion.

See Account and Data Deletion for help. Limited residual copies may remain temporarily in provider backups or security systems before normal rotation, or where law requires retention.

7. Security and international processing

We use access controls, authenticated APIs, encrypted network transport, and signed media access. No system is completely secure. Providers may process information outside your country under applicable contractual and legal safeguards.

8. Your choices and rights

You can edit information, disable online sync, delete profiles, delete your account, or ask about access, correction, deletion, consent withdrawal, or other applicable rights. Disabling sync does not delete existing cloud data.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy and will communicate material changes appropriately. Contact privacy@amuzz.in for questions or requests.
